Gallery design

Yay I got my gallery up and running sweet as. I tried to use the Jquery lightbox but I couldn’t get the skin right, so it’s reverted to some sort of a basic one, it still looks good though. Now I just have too get all my images sorted and descriptions written up.

Designing the menu

I’m making the sprites in Photoshop, following the awesome menu tutorial on the net. Its a lot easier then I thought it would be and once I get that out of the way I’ll move on to setting up the video player. The design is a little bit different the original wireframe mock-up, but I think it looks good.

"Say I Love You"

I've recently been trying to find new manga to read so that i can somewhat have a distraction from my work (not really a good thing lol).

So i was looking on Mangareader and i seen "say i love you" and that it was a hot topic manga i figured why not it's only 20 chapters, however each chapter is like 40 or so pages so its more like double that.

Anyway I've never actually read a manga with a female protagonist before (Except maybe  Fairy Tail)
and I'm not usually pulled towards love stories, cause I find it better if they're mixed in with the story (like in Gantz).

Anyway I've finished reading up to the latest chapter and it's definitely a manga I'll continue to read seen as it tells such a passionate love story and isn't shown with terrible acting like in twilight, not that i could ever watch the whole thing.

Web Design

We're finally moving into the web design phase of the semester and i can't wait to start coding as i hope it might open up to better understanding of coding language like C++.

Anyway today I'm just sorting out a plan for the basic layout and needs of my site which will primarily be used to show my animation work and hopefully motivate me to make animations that I have wanted too make.

Animation

I love animation and am hoping to get so far as to make my own series someday when I'm better and more professional..

Now I've uploaded a new page with my animations on there and I'm hoping to add my motion graphic novel once i have finished that which will be in a few weeks, I also wanna start making some flash animation as well.

Gantz

Okay so i just started reading Gantz this week, for those who don't know what that is it's a seinen manga, its been a great read, I'm up to like chapter 315 or something and so has been a good distraction from my work lol. It's finally good to be reading this series finally cause I had been holding off on it for some reason and anyway I figured it would be good to do a manga reading marathon as it were and started reading it.

Finally a series that's dark and twisted, I mean the amount of people that die in this series is insane and the somewhat accuracy of the drawings makes it that much better.
It also ties a great love story into the mix and I'm always pleased with a good love story in manga/anime, especially Zero no Tsukaima.

Oku Hiroya's artwork is amazing and his monster creation is pretty cool too. I love series that are sort a of non-mainstream mainstream manga and i think that gantz sort of fits into that category.Now being that this is a manga for adults Its obvious that the content will contain little censorship as possible and i think it shows just enough to make it good but not go too far (even the sex scenes).

comments and ethics

The use of comments in a website especially social media can be a good or bad thing depending on the content. For example a lot of youtube comment sections have very nasty arguments which include a lot of swearing however some people also do things like share helpful info and how much they enjoy the said content.

So it all boils down to how its being monitored and controlled and i feel that I'd rather check the content first before its posted just to be on the safe side. To do so i have turned on post moderation.

This blog is purely about my interests and my work as a designer/animator and am hoping to maybe get really into it so much so that i can make it more clean and professional looking.
